Hiking

Kuusamo is a hiker’s dream destination!

Valleys carved deep, gorges with steep rock walls, canyons, fast-flowing rivers and waterfalls, fells and primeval forests create the perfect setting for day trips as well as longer hikes.

Located in Kuusamo, the Karhunkierros Trail is the most famous hiking trail in Finland, but we also have plenty of other hiking trails and walkable attractions, one more stunning than the other.

Karhunkierros Trail

This iconic 80 km trail winds around the unforgettable scenery of Oulanka National Park and the fell landscape near Ruka.

National parks

It’s hard to find hiking trails that compare with Oulanka, Riisitunturi and Hossa in Finland. Extensive services are available and the scenery is simply breathtaking!
