Ruka Bike Park - routes

Ruka Bike Park routes are divided into two categories - FLOW and TECHNICAL.

Routes are listed from the easiest to the most difficult so that you can choose the suitable routes for your level and progress towards more challenging driving experiences.

Flow

Mainly machine- made about 1-2 meters wide routes, where the surface of the route is mostly flat. Includes a variety of bumps, shapes, tilted bends, and jumps that you can skip.

Family park 20 - Greens & Blues

The Family Park is in the immediate vicinity of the Ruka Valley. On the hillside is a covered carpet lift that easily transports the family's little ones to half of the Family Park. Routes start at the upper end of the carpet lift and flow down back to the end of the lift. The routes have low-threshold obstacles made of wood as well as tilted bends and small jumps and drops. This is perfect for beginners!

Kuru 1 - Green

This route is a great choice for the beginners! Kuru 1 route leaves from the vicinity of the Gondola intermediate station and lands in the Ruka Village. The route has a common starting point with the Vuosseli 25, but routes differ after a few turns. If you want to stay on the Kuru 1, take the right lane at the junction.

There are tilted bends, mounds and other easy jumps / shapes to cross.

Vuosseli 25 - Green

The Vuosseli 25 route starts near the Gondola intermediate station and descends east of Ruka next to the Kulma (O) lift. This is an excellent choice for the beginners!

The route has a common start with the Kuru 1, but after a few turns the routes are split. If you want to go to Vuosseli, stay on the left. From the end of the route, it's easy to switch to the Gondola lift if the Corner lift is not open or the anchor lift still feels too challenging. This is one of the longest routes in Ruka and serves a nice gentle descent to Itä-Ruka, where you can easily adjust your speed according to your own skill level.

There are tilted bends, mounds and other jumps / shapes to be crossed. Along a route you will pass an elevator line that may be running. Please exercise caution when driving through this.

Easy way down 3 - Green

The Easy Way Down 3 route departs from the Ruka Bike Park departure point next to the VillageExpress lift. From the route it's possible to join Vuosseli 25 or Kuru 1 routes. This is perfect for beginners who already know the secrets of the Kuru 1 and Vuosseli 25 routes.

There are tilted bends, mounds and other easy jumps / shapes to cross.

ROUTE WILL BE COMPLETED DURING THE SUMMER 2022.

Ahonlaita 29 - Blue

Ahonlaita 29 starts from the Ruka Bike Park departure point next to the VillageExpress lift and ends at the Vuosseli 25 on the East Ruka side, where you can easily reach the Kulma (O) lift or the Gondola lift. There are many routes leaving from the same starting point, but are clearly marked with number plates.

This route is best choice for a driver who has been downhill cycling for some time or who has experience of the green routes at Ruka Bike Park.

Route includes sloping bends, mounds and other jumps / shapes that can be crossed or skipped. Along a route you will pass an elevator line that may be running. Please exercise caution when driving through this.

Masto 30 - Blue

Both have convenient access to the Kulma(O) lift or the Gondola lift. There are many routes leaving from the same starting point, but are clearly marked with number plates.

The route flows through the forests of the Masto slope area, offering a long descent. Along the route, next to the creek, is also a small resting place for example for snacks.

Route includes tilted bends, mounds and jumps / shapes that can be crossed or skipped. Along a route you will pass an elevator line that may be running. Please exercise caution when driving through this.

Saarua 14 - Blue

Saarua 14 route starts from the immediate vicinity of the Gondola station behind the Saarua open hut and descends to the Gondola lift near RukaValley. The route is best suited for someone who has been downhill cycling for some time. The route crosses the service road a few times and runs in the vicinity of the Fresbee golf course.

The route includes sloping bends, different types and sizes of mounds, rhizomes and rocks. There are also a few jumps on the route that can be crossed or skipped.

Kelo 9 - Red

The Kelo 9 route leaves from the immediate vicinity of the Kelo (E) lift. Exit the VillageExpress elevator to the right and head to the VuosseliExpress elevator exit. From here, continuing a short distance under a wooden bridge, you are at the beginning of the route. The route comes down both sides of the Kelo slope and ends behind the Riipinen Restaurant, from where there is a short transition to the VillageExpress lift along the Kaltiolampi.

The route is suitable for a driver who has been practicing the sport for a long time and is looking for a fast-paced FLOW section. The route starts wider and faster. When you get down, the nature of the route becomes steeper as well as more technical.

Technical

More natural, narrower routes that require technical driving, often made by hand in accordance with natural forms and equipped with different surface materials. The routes include rocks, rhizomes, and other more challenging sections such as jumps. However, some of the jumps can be skipped.

Ahonlaita 28 - Blue

The Ahonlaita 28 route starts from the starting point of Ruka's Bicycle Park next to the VillageExpress lift and ends on the East Ruka side of the Vuosseli 25 route, from where you can easily reach the Kulma (O) lift or the Gondola lift.

Reitti laskeutuu Ahonlaita rinteen molemmin puolin olevissa metsissä. Ahonlaita 28 on aikoinaan ollut Funduro-Cupin Rukan osakilpailuissa mukana ja onkin hyvä reitti tutustua teknisempään Enduro tapaiseen ajamiseen.

Reitti on polkumainen reitti, josta löytyy maaston muotojen mukaista kumpuilevaa maastoa. Reitiltä löytyy kivikkoja, juurakoita sekä kuntta/sammal -maastoa. Tämä reitti sopii hyvin harrastaja kuskille, joka tahtoo kehittää teknistä ajamistaan.

Masto 31 - red

The Masto 31 route departs from the Ruka Bike Park starting point next to the VillageExpress lift and ends next to the Masto open hut, from where you can return to the Kulma lift or Gondola lift along the transition route. The route starts between the Ahonlaita slope and the Kelo slope in the direction of the Masto area.

The fast-paced route was included in the Funduro Cup Ruka race and is the favorite Enduro route for many drivers who have visited the fell several times.

The route includes rocks, rhizomes and mor / mossy terrain. Suitable for beginners who want's to improve their technical driving.

Kelo 6 - black

The Kelo 6 route leaves the VuosseliExpress lift exit at the front slopes and descends towards the BatteryRun hillside in the forest along the Kelo slope, crossing the Kelo lift runway (not used in summer). From the forest, the route enters the Kelo slope at the steep bottom and ends at the bottom of the slope. From here, it is easy to reach the VillageExpress lift next to Kaltiolampi.

Kelo 6 is a thoroughbred DH route. SM-Titles and CUP trophies have been fought on this route. The route is divided into three sectors:

Sector 1 is very open grass, rock and fast-paced - as organic as it can be.

Sector 2 is the fastest part of the route - there are jumps, falls, rocks and rhizomes, and a skippable gap jumper.

Sector 3 is the most technical part of the line. The steepness at the end of the route, the rhizomes, and the rocks make driving more challenging. At the end you will find a wooden drop to the Kelo slope. However, this can be skipped from the other side of the Kelo slope, in which case you should choose the left alignment from the intersection at the bottom of the steep.

There are gap jumps, cliffs, rocks, rhizomes, cliffs, wooden obstacles and falls on the route. The route is best suited for long-time sports enthusiasts who know how to jump, drop and have really good bike handling skills.
