Ruka’s summer season begins as the fell transforms into a summery amusement park for the whole family! Whether you're an adrenaline-loving adventurer or a nature enthusiast who prefers calmer activities, Ruka offers the best summer fun.
Ruka Bike Park
Finland's dominant bike park of the year is a dream come true for downhill enthusiasts. With trails of varying difficulty, there's a suitable challenge for both beginners and experienced riders. Get started easily by booking a course or private lesson with Ruka Bike School. Ten euro Wednesdays are perfect for newcomers with intro courses and lift tickets at a reduced price.
Summer sled track
Ready to race? The summer sled track offers thrilling speed for everyone who dares to take a seat. You don’t necessarily have to speed down – you control the pace. The smallest sledders can ride safely on an adult’s lap.
Zipline
Ever wondered what it’s like to see Ruka from above? The zipline lets you soar over the mountain landscapes on a 364-meter-long cable. It’s the perfect way to admire Finland's most beautiful national scenery with a touch of excitement.
Lappis water park
Nothing beats a refreshing dip in a water park on a hot summer day. The Lappis Water Park in Ruka Village’s Kaltiolampi offers fun for the whole family. Can you stay upright on the floating water park courses? The park opens just in time for Ruka's Midsummer visitors.
Scenic lifts
The Village-2-Valley gondola and the VillageExpress chairlift take you to the top of the fell, and the gondola can also take you all the way to Ruka Valley. It’s a great way to explore Ruka and admire the surrounding fells and lake views from the lift. If you don't mind a short walk, a trip to the majestic Juhannuskallio is a must.
Mini golf and disc golf
If thrilling activities aren’t your thing right now, try mini golf and disc golf. The mini golf course around the village offers a chance for the whole family to enjoy some friendly competition. In disc golf, you can enjoy nature while aiming for the basket – and perhaps passing a few reindeer along the way.
Gravel and mountain biking
Ruka's surroundings offer great settings for both gravel and mountain biking. The newly launched Ruka-Kuusamo gravel route network provides nearly 900 km of trails, and there are almost 200 km of marked mountain biking trails. Rent a bike from Piste and hit the trails – with or without electric assistance.
